Waystead Scheduler is a planning tool for your household. You may use it to organise your family’s week, curriculum, and tasks, for your own personal and family use. It is run on a server operated by your household (“self-hosted”); the household operator is responsible for that server and its data.

You are responsible for the accounts in your household and for keeping sign-in details safe. A primary parent manages the household; partners and children appear as members within it. You agree to provide accurate sign-in information and to keep it confidential. You are responsible for activity that happens under your household’s accounts.

Where you use Waystead Scheduler to track your own children’s learning, you do so as the responsible adult. You confirm you have the authority to enter and manage that information. Children do not sign in or use the service directly; a responsible adult manages their records.

Waystead Scheduler is a steady hand on a busy week — a tool that suggests a realistic plan. It is not:

• a guarantee that any plan, deadline, or lesson will be completed;
• professional advice (educational, medical, financial, or otherwise);
• a substitute for your own judgement about your family’s time and commitments.

You remain responsible for the decisions you make using the plans it produces.

Use the service lawfully and for its intended household-planning purpose. Do not use it to store unlawful content, to attempt to access another household’s data, to disrupt the service, or to reverse-engineer or misuse it in ways that harm others.

Because the service is self-hosted, its availability depends on the server your household runs. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own records of anything important; the app’s backups are a convenience, not a guarantee.

The software is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You use it at your own discretion and risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Waystead and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

Your household’s data belongs to your household. How it is handled is described in the Privacy page. You can export or delete it. If your household stops using the service, you are responsible for retrieving anything you wish to keep before the instance is closed.

We may update these terms as the app changes. Material changes — particularly any move toward public or invited use — will be made clear, and (per the note at the top) reviewed by a solicitor before such changes take effect.

These terms are intended to be governed by the law of England and Wales. (To be confirmed on legal review.)
